Fred wrote his own list of ” Ten steps to Properly Coming Home From School” and he has been following it, so that’s good!
On Friday Lola came with me to church to volunteer sorting the clothing donations. She’s done this before at the Op Shop in Birkenhead. It’s fun looking through everything. so we had a coffee with the 3 ladies working there, and one had her 2 kids present, it was an inset day, so the girl of 10 spoke to us in English. We enjoyed a couple of hours sorting and I got a good winter coat & a tracksuit for Jojo. We have been invited to the volunteers lunch next week. Yay!
On Saturday Lee & I got the bus to Haarlem for a breakfast, where they have hipster places. We tried out By Lima.
We had a lovely beetroot scrambled egg with feta, avocado & fennel, and a humous & beans with pomegranate. MMm!
Haarlem is full of cute little houses and pretty back streets.
Lee loves to window shop there too as there’s record & hifi shops, fancy coffee, retro toys & collectibles, esoteric stuff he likes all interspersed with architectural detailing.
It’s just like Amsterdam, something interesting everywhere you look.
